Media = Adobe Illustrator CS4Biker Scouts on Endor
I do have other Star Wars art in my gallery, if you would like to take a look:
My Star Wars Gallery
Information about this drawing:
In Illustrator, I used the pen tool, as well as standard gradients, gradient mesh, the 'scribble' feature (for the "bark" on the trees), a freebie grunge brush set (for the dirt and crud on the front of the bike), the pathfinder (divide), and masks (mostly on the trees, and on the front blade of the bike).
I may change the background eventually since I'm not satisfied with how it turned out.
I wanted to add more detail and value variation and make it nicer, but the screen display was slow on this as more content kept getting added.
I may either try to add more detail in the future, or just scrap most (or all of it) and have one or two of the scout troopers on a plain background.
This is actually a combination of three or four files.
I drew the scout on the bike in one file, the standing scout in another, and the ferns and trees in yet other files. Reference Photo 1 Reference Photo 2 Live Trace was Not used on any portion of this image
(Though I do feel this would be one of those times Live Trace would be justified on part of an image, specifically the background, e.g., the trees, leaves, branches, etc., but I drew all that myself with the pen tool, gradients, and a few masks.)
(I drew a biker scout when I was a kid. That drawing is on my graphic design site: My old biker scout drawing
) Please do not use this drawing without my permission.
