Description
If you enjoyed this drawing, I have several other Marilyn Monroe drawings in my DA gallery (and a few at my graphic design site); here is the link to my dA Marilyn Monroe gallery:
Information about this drawing:
Subject: Actress Marilyn Monroe.
Media = Adobe Illustrator
Links to some of my other Marilyn Monroe art on Deviant Art if you'd like to take a look
(I have other Marilyn drawings on my graphic design portfolio site, too):
Pen tool; gradient mesh; standard gradient tool; pathfinder (divide); transparency panel. Custom pattern brush (for jewelry).
I did not use "Live Trace" or "Live Paint" on any portion of the drawing.
There are a few aspects of this drawing that bother me, such as the obvious 'line' between the left arm (it's Marilyn's right arm, but it's on the left to us, the viewer) and her chest.
If I could, I would bring this drawing into Photoshop and use the blur tool (or other means) to soften the hard edges and correct other areas.
However, I belong to a few vector groups on Deviant Art who are rather stringent in their rules: if your work isn't purely vector, it won't be accepted, or it has to be submitted to some other folder.
So I'm trying to keep such drawings purely Illustrator/vector.
I may in the future take such drawings, alter them in Photoshop, and place the variations of them in my Deviant Art Scrapbook.
Edit (November 14, 2010):
Someone requested a print of this drawing the other day. I'm fairly new to Deviant Art (been here about 1 month), and I've never used their print shop/print submissions. I'm not sure how to go about that.
I've already read a few DA FAQs pages about how to submit prints and sell them, but I'll go look at some more of their FAQs pages on the issue and think about it.
I'm also unsure if I have to have a paid subscription membership to use DA's print services (I'm currently a free member).
Also, this current version is a low resolution image (72 ppi), and I think I'd have to upload at least a 300 ppi version.
Please do not use this drawing without my permission.
