Iced Tea vector drawing

Subject = Glass of iced tea with spoon and lemon.

When I got about 4/5 of the way done with this iced tea drawing, the software kept crashing. Once I got past that point, when I was about 98% done, the software kept refusing to save the illustration because it said I was low on scratch memory.

When I opened the file again later, it said it could not show a preview image, so it now only shows the wireframe version in the software.

The lemon wedge did not come out altogether, completely convincing, but I was happy to get this much finished.

This started out being a fun drawing but turned into a nightmare once all the software malfunctions started happening.

Tools/features used in the software:
Pen tool; gradient mesh; standard gradient tool; transparency panel; pathfinder (divide); 'gravel' pattern texture set to overlay mode on top of lemon wedge

(Photoshop was used only to make the final image smaller and to add my name on the right side. The drawing itself was made in Illustrator.)

Reference Photo

"Live Trace" was not used on any part of the drawing.
